Tendulkar, Argentine football legend Diego Maradona, boxing champion Mike Tyson of the US and Swiss tennis ace Roger Federer are part of the global campaign Dubai Cares, which focusses on providing education for underprivileged children.
Sachin Tendulkar is greeted by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The campaign was launched on September 29 and so far collections have exceeded Dirham 200 million (60 million US dollars).

Sachin Tendulkar’s Opus Experience, a book which has master blaster’s signature, fetched Dh 300,000 (US$ 81,690).
The Manchester United Opus Experience, a sports publication with historical moments of the club’s history, was auctioned for Dh 5 million (US$ 1,361,507).
The previous record bidding for a sports publication was Dh 4 million (US$ 1,089,205)

The campaign hopes to bring together sportspersons from all over the world to interact with schoolchildren, local residents, young cricketers, footballers and communal groups, to further boost this humanitarian cause.
It targets the sports sector, including athletes, stars at the UAE, regional and international levels along with the general public.
